Surgery After Massive Weight Loss

Congratulations on losing weight.  You have made a huge step in the direction of a healthier and happier life. You and your doctor may have noticed improvement in your blood pressure, your blood sugar, and your achy knees. But you also may have noticed some sagging of your skin, especially if you lost weight rapidly.

If you are at or near your target weight and your weight has been stable for at least 6 months, you may be a good candidate for surgery after massive weight loss. These procedures include liposuction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), breast lift, breast reduction, lower body lift, flank lift, thigh lift and upper arm lift, and face and neck lift. There are many options. Many massive weight loss patients are best served by several procedures spaced out over several months. It is important for patients to understand that surgery after massive weight loss, is a process, just as the weight loss was.

At your consultation, I will assess your anatomy, your goals and come up with a treatment plan. I will work with your primary care physician to assure you are a good candidate for what is sometimes lengthy surgery. Once you are healed and your scars have faded you likely will look back on your body contouring as the sugar free icing on the low-fat cake of your new life.

If you would like to find out more about this procedure please call our office to schedule an appointment at 206-464-0873.
