A ^Retired Plastic Surgeon's Notebook

Questions about my before and after photos.

blog honestyThis past week I have had two questions about my photo gallery that took me by surprise.  One patient asked if I Photoshopped my after photos and another prospective patient asked me if all the photos in my before and after gallery were of my work.  The answers to these question are:  No, I don’t Photoshop my after photos.   In fact, I don’t even know how to Photoshop anything!  And yes, all of the before and after gallery photos are of my work.

These questions lead me to believe that there may be some websites out there that are, er, a little dishonest when it comes to the before and after photos.  Now, I have to admit that I post my good results and I, like all plastic surgeons, have a few patients out there who I wish  had a better result than what I could obtain.   More often than not, those patients are more satisfied with their result than I am!   And once in a while, I’ll get a stellar result that the patient thinks should be better!   It’s all part of the sometimes crazy world of plastic surgery.  I just try to keep it real.

Thanks for reading and check out my photo gallery.  It’s the real meal deal.  Dr. Lisa Lynn Sowder
