Feeling Generous? Make a donation to Project Access Northwest

Seattle Plastic Surgeon promotes Project Access Northwest.  It’s just good medicine.

I have been volunteering with Project Access Northwest for a couple of years.  This program provides specialty care (at no charge) to patients who are in need and are either uninsured or under insured.

My patients have included a young barista with a potentially fatal melanoma, a recent African immigrant with an infected facial cyst and a older gentleman with a gigantic, neglected  basal cell skin cancer on his back.

The one thing all these patients have in common is that they benefited from excellent coordination of care that makes it really easy for a surgeon like me to say “yes”.  You see, it takes more than just a surgeonwilling to devote his or her time.  It also takes anesthesiologists, operating facilities and pathologists to take total care of the patient’s problem.  Project Access makes sure all of that is in place.  And these patients all show up for their appointments.  And some of them send me Christmas cards!

So if you are looking for a worthy program for your year end charitable donation dollars, consider Project Access.  Thanks for reading!  Dr. Lisa Lynn Sowder
