Hey ladies, don’t toss that bra!

Seattle Breast Lift Surgeon offers some unsolicited advice to any woman with larger-than-A cup breasts:  Wear a bra!

DON”T TOSS THAT BRA!

Today I saw a patient who had me remove her deflated saline breast implants and replace them with a set of new and fabulous cohesive silicone gel implants.  Her implants are sizeable and she usually measures about a DD in most bras.  So I was shocked – shocked! – when I saw that she wasn’t wearing a bra today.

I had to give her my lecture on gravity and the fact that unless you live in the International Space Station, gravity is the law and it’s working on your breasts every moment you are in the upright position.  It’s good to fight back with a well fitting bra.

I usually have my breast surgery patients wear a sports type bra for about three weeks and then get measured for something more fetching once most of the swelling has subsided.  Getting measured is key.  A bra that fits properly should be more comfortable than no bra at all.

So ladies, don’t toss that bra.  Just get fitted properly and have some fun with colors, styles and fabrics.  And if you don’t believe me about the need for a bra, my mom has a whole bunch of old National Geographic Magazines in her basement.  Just page through a few of those and you will never go without a bra again.

Thanks for reading and don’t forget your bra.  Dr. Lisa Lynn Sowder
