Transblepharoplasty brow lift with Endotine TransBleph fixation devices

Transblepharoplasty brow lift is a wonderful procedure for the  patient who needs just a little lift and needs to get back to their cubicle in their high tech Seattle job sooner rather than later.  This is also a nice procedure for men who want to avoid too much of a lift which can be very feminizing.

Check out these before and after photos in my gallery.

Quick facts:

  • Costs:  $4500 – $5000 depending on the extent and length of surgery.
  • Post-operative pain:  mild to moderate
  • Drains?:  yes, usually  removed in 1-3 days.
  • Time off work or school: 1 – 2 weeks depending on how much you bruise and swell and whether or not you care if your coworkers know you had “something done”.
  • Time off driving:  1 week or once you are off narcotic pain meds.
  • Time away from the gym:  4 weeks.
  • Time off the slopes:  6 weeks.
  • Time off the kite board: 6 weeks.
  • How long it lasts: usually about 10 years.  Brow Lift turns the clock back but does not stop it’s ticking!
  • Patient satisfaction:  high.

With the help of a new type of fixation device, I can now do brow lifts on some patients through an upper eyelid incision. This results in less scarring and quicker recovery than a standard brow lift.  This procedure is often done at the same time as blepharolplasty.  The Endotine TransBleph device is the surgical equivalent of a carpet tack. It dissolves after about 6 months and by that time, the brow should be well fixated in its new elevated position. I have found this procedure to be very effective for many patients who would benefit from a brow lift and I often do it at the same time as an upper lid blepharoplasty. I have before and after photos of patients who have had this procedure in my photo gallery. Take a look!
