Neck Liposuction Neck liposuction can improve the contour of the neck and jawline in individuals who have excess fat in this area and who have good skin tone. Most patients who qualify for this procedure are under 40. If there is excess fat and loose skin, I may recommend a lower facelift. At your initial consultation, I will examine you and determine which procedure is best for you. Neck liposuction is done in my AAAASF certified office operating room using local anesthetic and intravenous sedation. The excess fat is removed using a small metal tube attached to a strong vacuum system. Most patients are bruised and swollen for about one week following the surgery. We provide you with a special chin strap that you wear day and night for the first week after surgery and at night for an additional week. There is mild pain following the surgery which is usually well controlled with pain medication. Most patients enjoy lasting benefit from neck liposuction. Maintaining a stable weight can help maximize the benefit.
